Mr Brian Cox is married to Maureen and together they have four adult children.
Brian has been involved with education for more than 35 years and has worked in three continents. He has held principals’ positions for more than 25 years and exercised a role as Regional Director for Christian Schools across three states of Australia. This involved providing support, advocacy and advice to new and existing schools, as well as professional development to Boards and school leaders. Brian has frequently presented seminars for Leaders and Governing Bodies as well as Conferences and Professional Development Programs for educators. He was most recently the keynote speaker at the Association of National Schools across Indonesia.
In addition to teaching qualifications Brian has post-graduate degrees in Biblical Studies and Education. He is regularly involved in presenting undergraduate and post-graduate university courses covering areas of Philosophy, Ethics, Leadership, Pastoral Care and Education. He maintains an ongoing involvement on the editorial board of the Christian Teachers Journal and is a regular education writer for the Jakarta Post.
He is presently the Head of Sekolah Pelita Harapan Karawaci located in Jakarta, and coordinator of the expanding Pelita Harapan system. The system has recently initiated a teacher education facility that will enrol five hundred full scholarship teachers each year. In 2008, the Pelita Harapan system has also introduced targeted Leadership training. This involves identifying twenty five emerging Leaders in Indonesian Education and involving them in a twenty day leadership intensive courses and workshops. Despite these involvements, Brian insists on a regular weekly involvement in the local school classroom with students.
Indonesia is a country with many practical and spiritual needs and provides a multitude of mission possibilities.
